Additional Information
Here are some potential health benefits of raw whole sprats as part of a dog’s regular diet, based on general knowledge:
- Nutrient-rich: Sprats are small fish that are packed with nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Omega-3 fatty acids are known to have anti-inflammatory properties and can benefit a dog’s skin, coat, joint health, and overall immune system.
- Protein source: Protein is essential for dogs as it provides the building blocks for muscle development, repair, and overall growth. Including raw whole sprats in a dog’s diet can provide a high-quality protein source that is easily digestible.
- Dental health: Chewing on whole sprats may help promote dental health in dogs. The act of chewing can help to mechanically remove plaque and tartar from teeth, which may contribute to better oral health and fresher breath.
- Variety in diet: A balanced and varied diet is important for dogs to ensure they receive a wide range of nutrients. Including raw whole sprats as part of a rotational feeding plan can offer dietary diversity and may help prevent nutrient deficiencies.
- Natural food source: Raw whole sprats are a natural food source for dogs, and some pet owners who follow a raw food diet, also known as a raw or BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) diet, may choose to include sprats as part of their dog’s raw food regimen.
It’s important to note that a dog’s dietary needs may vary depending on their age, size, activity level, and overall health condition.
Being a fresh product once defrosted, keep for 48-72 hours in a refrigerator. This productshould be fed raw. Thoroughly defrost before serving.
Always remember good hygiene practices, handle as you would any other raw meat. Wash hands and utensils after handling.
Delivery
We are always trying to reduce our carbon footprint. Sending raw via courier typically involves using bulky polystyrene boxes. We want to get away from these boxes and as such we use a cardboard box lined with polystyrene. Under normal condition this works fine, on occasion the product can arrive with a small loss in hardness of the food which has no effect on the food itself. It can be simply popped in the freezer to harden off. By placing an order with us you agree to this form of packaging and accept that a small loss of product hardness may be experienced. Do bear in mind that most other producers have already defrosted their meat for processing and refrozen it whereas we are one of very few that produce from frozen
